Seeking mental health care can be difficult and daunting for some individuals, as well as finding the right therapist. My initial goal when meeting with new clients is to create a comfortable environment to get to know you better. My focus throughout therapy is to facilitate positive change, identify patterns that get in your way, and help you build a life worth living. Part of that process invites you to acknowledge your inner strengths and autonomy, while challenging yourself in new ways, even if it's hard. I truly love this work and feel extremely fortunate to be able to do it. I'm happy to meet you over the phone or Zoom for an initial introduction before scheduling an appointment. Feel free to email me, and we'll go from there. I look forward to potentially working with you!

At Behavioral Solutions, we aim to make mental health care simple, accessible, and consistent for college students. Our practice is fully virtual, allowing you to meet with a licensed therapist through secure telehealth sessions wherever you are — at school, at home, or anywhere in between. Because our clinicians are licensed in Massachusetts, Maine, Georgia, Florida and Michigan, students in those states can continue working with the same therapist while home on breaks or moving between school and home. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or just feeling overwhelmed by life transitions, we’re here to provide steady, supportive care.
Hello, it is great to meet you! My name is Margaret, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I began my career as a high school teacher before receiving my Master's in Social Work, and I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults in their college years. In addition to private practice work, I have spent many years working with schools and supporting adolescents, parents, and educators. I feel passionate about helping others through difficult transition periods in their lives with grounding, understanding, and tools to deal with challenges in a healthy and meaningful way. I like to collaborate with students to develop tools to manage stress or difficult life transitions, alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, or prioritize self-care. I work hard to partner with students to develop the support they need to feel more empowered and joyful and have a deeper connection to themselves and those they care about.
Having worked in both academic and corporate environments, my current work as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner has evolved from observing students’ and colleagues’ challenges and successes and their relationship to emotional health and ability to focus on daily and long-term goals. As a result of my Yale, Duke, Tufts and MGH psychiatric training, I’ve honed my observations into effective working theories about the biopsychosocial factors that influence peoples’ vitality and well-being. If you're currently struggling with academic, professional or emotional obstacles, I believe I can help. My practice involves the diagnosis and treatment of multiple mental health conditions including: ADHD, ANXIETY and DEPRESSION with a focus on compassionate, culturally sensitive, SUPPORTIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY and MEDICATION MANAGEMENT for adolescents and adults. If you’re struggling with a mental health condition and need help with medication management, or simply want assistance with improving your mental well-being, please contact me for a private consultation. Initial appointments last about an hour with follow-ups taking less time. If you’d like to discuss living a more balanced life, please give me a call.

Central to the therapy process is connecting with someone with whom you can openly explore your past and present; thoughts, feelings, and wishes. As a therapist I am committed to helping you understand the important experiences and patterns that have influenced your life and begin to find openings for new insights and greater meaning. This can allow for personal growth, more fulfilling relationships, and improved coping with difficulties. My style is collaborative, supportive and interactive. My approach involves both facilitating personal exploration and helping you find new strategies for managing difficulty. People who come to see me are often struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, eating/body image concerns, or struggling with transitions in young adulthood
Happiness, a state of being that is unaffected by external circumstances. I am a clinical social worker and a Life Coach in training and am certified in Emotional Intelligence Coaching. As your personal Life Coach, I will work with you to gain clarity about what you really want out of, and in, your own life. We will work together to define your dreams, hopes, and desires and establish a plan to help you achieve your goals. You will come to live a life of freedom and empowerment. Many come seeking guidance when struggling with grief, sadness, loss, parenting issues, eating disorders, relationships, coming out and transitioning, ACOA issues, career and job transition, and many other issues. I also provide surgical consultations and letters for gender affirming surgeries.
If you are looking for support with self-exploration and self-esteem; experiencing relationship stress, depression or anxiety; adjusting to life at school or other big changes; or if you just feel like you need somewhere to unpack things you've been carrying for too long -- let's talk. I welcome every piece of your journey with radical acceptance - the grit, the shame, the parts we all try to hide and bury away. The funny thing about those things is, we all have them. I love therapy because it gives that stuff some room to breathe - which gives YOU room to breathe. And reboot. And make plans for what comes next. Over my years in the field, I've developed an approach to therapy that combines creativity and collaboration, focusing on a trusting, safe connection as the bedrock of our work. I utilize a variety of talk and expressive therapy modalities and love approaching things through a non-traditional lens. Connecting with a therapist when you're already struggling can be really overwhelming. Be proud that you're taking this first step right now. With time and space to bear witness to the answers you have within yourself, and a person you trust to help, it becomes easier to feel better and find the ground beneath your feet.

Hi! I'm Virginia Mahoney, founder and lead clinician at Lockwood Wellness. I believe in fostering a space where kindness towards oneself intertwines with the courage to face life's challenges. At the heart of my approach lies the belief that you are the expert of your own story. Deciding to see a therapist requires awareness and regard for oneself. I have deep respect for what has brought you here, and this will form the foundation of our work together. Perhaps you seek therapy now because of a crisis that is presenting new challenges or bringing up old, unresolved problems. Or you now feel ready to address a long-standing pattern that has caused much difficulty and pain over time. Your struggles may be affecting not only your relationships with others but also how you relate to yourself. My job is to help you expand your capacity for what you can do alone. I offer a combination of psychoanalytic and CBT/DBT informed approaches while being mindful of both the universality and cultural individuality of our experiences. I have worked extensively with a range of people, from those in the throes of PTSD or addiction to ones dealing with transitions or looking for greater connection in relationships. I hold the conviction that exploration of the past is necessary as it influences and shapes our circumstances, while at times being present to our anxieties and resources in the moment is crucial. By coming here, you have already begun your work. If you think that I may be of help, let us have a conversation. It would be my privilege to talk with you.

My clinical practice is grounded in frameworks of CBT, ACT, and DBT, and I integrate various modalities to ensure my approach aligns with every client's unique needs. I am direct, experienced, and warm; with me, therapy is a collaborative process through which we can step back together and look at challenges you are experiencing through a lens of curiosity. You have many strengths that have gotten you to this point in time, and we will tap into these to help you move towards more fulfillment in life.
