Therapists for college students near Northeastern University
I am licensed in MA, NH, and VT. As a trauma therapist, I embrace an unconventional therapeutic style, incorporating humor and a holistic approach into my clinical practice. My practice is inclusive and welcoming to individuals from all identities and backgrounds. Many of my clients are neurodivergent or members of the LGBTQIA+ community who are experiencing issues related to complex PTSD and/or substance use and addiction. Drawing upon a deep understanding of trauma dynamics, harm reduction, and 12-step models, I stand by my clients as they venture into a path of healing and self-exploration. I offer a compassionate and comprehensive approach to healing. Viewing addiction and substance use as trauma-related disorders, I incorporate an eclectic combination of interventions to guide folks in rebuilding their sense of safety and resiliency. If appropriate, I can provide EMDR therapy. EMDR is a highly effective treatment for unresolved trauma. As a holistic clinician, my approach to healing considers the entirety of an individual. I believe our problems are not isolated events but interconnected components of our lives, impacting various facets of ourselves. Together, we can address issues at their roots, across the many layers of our being, to foster lasting and transformative change.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating a variety of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism and OCD. Supporting young people and their families has always been at the heart of my work. I am committed to providing compassionate, collaborative, and culturally responsive mental health care. Having grown up and trained in Boston, I am proud to serve the community that is my home. Creating a space where you feel heard, safe, and supported is critical to my practice. Whether we are navigating a new diagnosis, exploring medication options or working to better understand your thoughts and behavioral patterns, we will work together to find an approach that works for you. Education is the backbone of my practice so you feel informed and empowered to make the best decision for you or your child. My goal is to provide you with tools to build insight and coping skills to better support yourself in your mental health journey.
Hi! My name is Victoria and I am a licensed mental health counselor in MA. I have experience working with all ages but have a specific interest in working with youth and young adults. A lot of my work has been helping my clients manage stress, anxiety, depression, life decisions, and relationship issues. I take a client-centered approach to empower you to have confidence in yourself and your decision making abilities. This time in your life can be complicated and stressful, but it can also be enjoyable and meaningful. Let's chat about it!
You've faced so many challenges, and trauma has a knack for taking over everything. Maybe you try to keep busy to escape from it all, but most of the time, it's all-consuming. Your work or studies suffer, because you can’t concentrate. Your relationships are affected as well. It can be hard for others who haven't experienced similar struggles to truly understand you and what’s happening for you. Even for you, finding the right words to articulate it all can be tough. This makes connecting with others a bit more challenging. But trauma doesn't have to be your whole story. It doesn't have to consume your days, thoughts, relationships, and work. Even the trauma that stems from marginalization and oppression doesn't have to define you. Therapy can be where you separate out what has happened to you, from who you are and want to be. It can provide a space to discover peace, clarity, and even moments of joy amidst life's challenges. My passion lies in supporting survivors of interpersonal trauma, particularly those who have experienced child abuse, as well as individuals who face the daily impact of systemic oppression, including BIPOC, LGBTQAI+ individuals, and those who and those who navigate the complex intersections of marginalization. As a biracial Asian and White woman, I daily I navigate the hurtful impacts of racism and sexism in our world. Being multiracial allows me to see the world from different angles, and I appreciate both the difficulties and advantages it brings. I am 3rd-generation Chinese. I carry within me a deeply personal understanding of the burdens of generational trauma and the stress of acculturation within my family. However, I am aware that my experiences are limited to my own point of view and I don't assume to fully grasp how similar experiences have affected others. I approach everyone I meet, regardless of our similarities, with humility.
My goal is to guide you in understanding what interferes with living a fulfilling life. I believe change is possible, no matter the circumstance, and I will support you through your journey of growth and self-discovery. As a therapist with extensive background working with trauma survivors and individuals of all ages, couples and families in crisis, I respect and understand both the challenges and lifelong benefits of having therapeutic alliance. My experience with the healing process has solidified the importance of consistent, genuine care, creating a space to pursue what it is you desire and find to be meaningful. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Life Coach, my approach is primarily relational, focused on the cultural considerations of an individual. Although we cannot avoid suffering, learning to cope with it is possible. As we become curious and explore beliefs, experiences and relationships, we will discover meaning to move forward with renewed purpose. I use theoretical practices such as behavioral, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, psychodynamic, strengths-based with a trauma and attachment lens. Additionally, I am specialized in sexual trauma and utilize techniques to help alleviate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety and depression, build skills to regulate emotions and transform unhealthy behaviors. I am a Psychodynamic Couple and Family Institute of New England trainee.
College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming at times. You don't have to navigate stress, anxiety, depression or medication concern on your own. As a Psychiatric Mental Health provider, I support college students with personalized mental health care and medication management to help you stay balanced and succeed academically and personally. I offer convenient virtual appointments in the evenings on weekdays and midday to afternoon on weekends. You can reach out through email, my website, or by phone to get started.

This can allow for personal growth, more fulfilling relationships, and improved coping with difficulties. My style is collaborative, supportive and interactive. My approach involves both facilitating personal exploration and helping you find new strategies for managing difficulty. People who come to see me are often struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, eating/body image concerns, or struggling with transitions in young adulthood

I pay special attention to cultural and contextual factors that may be relevant to your concerns and treatment. In my work in university, refugee and veterans’ clinic settings, I've had the opportunity to engage with diverse populations and a wide array of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions and relational concerns. My offer to you something is simple and steady: a space where you do not have to perform, impress, or hold it all together. A space where you can exhale. I am especially drawn to working with people in transition especially college students standing on the edge of adulthood and professionalism. Transitions can shake your confidence. They can stir up old shame, old stories, old fears about not being enough. But they are also sacred turning points. They are invitations. Together, we will slow down and tune in. We will examine the narratives you’ve inherited and gently decide which ones no longer serve you. My hope for you is not that you leave therapy “better," but that you leave more fully yourself. I believe healing happens when someone sits with you long enough for you to remember your own strength. I will meet you with depth, honesty, humor and warmth. I will challenge you when needed, celebrate you when earned, and hold the mirror steady when you forget who you are. You do not have to worry alone. Everyone has a story. I look forward to hearing yours.
