My hope is to help you learn more tools and strategies to address the issues that you may be struggling with in a more effective way, so that you can feel better sooner. "You're like a listening Yoda," a patient said to me. I have 30+ years of experience making people of all ages and backgrounds and orientations feel comfortable. My patients, colleagues, supervisors and clients have come from nearly every country, represent every socio-economic class, and every aspect of the rainbow in terms of gender identity and sexuality, and have ranged in age from 5 years old to almost 80 years old! Do You Struggle With The 3 P’s? * Pressure * Procrastination * Perfectionism Are you trapped in negative thought-spirals? Improving your well-being starts with how you speak to yourself, and shifting your thinking toward supportive thoughts. Therapy is a process of breaking those patterns. It's also a exploratory process of exploration. It can be short-term or long-term. Often times the initial presenting problem is connected to underlying and enduring deeper themes. We can also be playful and tap into creativity in session. Patients who enjoy music, pop culture, and other creative modalities tell me they appreciate their use as a tool in treatment. People also like learning about the mind in general and theirs in particular. **None of us changes hearing something just once or saying something just once. It takes some repetition to identify, understand, acknowledge, and release.** In-person sessions available in Uptown/Carrollton New Orleans. Remote sessions available for Louisiana and New York Residents,

Hi, I’m Dhvani! I offer virtual therapy sessions for students in NY and NJ who may be looking for support beyond their campus counseling center. I work with people navigating anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, and life transitions—especially during demanding or uncertain times in school. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin to make sense of what you’re going through. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices like mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I understand that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Together, we’ll tailor our work based on your goals—whether that means building practical tools to manage day-to-day stress or exploring deeper patterns that may be shaping your experiences. Finding the right therapist matters. If you’re interested in working together, I’d be happy to connect for a free consultation to see if it feels like a good fit for you.
In the role of therapist, my initial priority is creating the safety and familiarity that is crucial to do real work together. I look at the therapeutic process as an opportunity to work with the person coming to me in need of support, and tackle their issues as a team. I bring a nonjudgmental, open-minded approach to my clients and emphasize the importance of clients feeling secure enough to say anything they need to in the space we curate together. My approach has an emphasis on self-compassion and becoming in tune with your emotions and body. In today’s world, it is easier than ever to become disconnected from your body and feelings. My hope is that we can work together to reintegrate your inner wisdom to your conscious level of awareness.

College is a time of real growth — and real pressure. For many students, it's also when questions about identity, mental health, and how they move through the world come into sharper focus. I work with college students who are navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, identity exploration, trauma history, or the particular exhaustion that comes with being neurodivergent in demanding academic environments. Many of the young adults I work with are autistic, ADHD, or both — and are often doing so without the scaffolding that got them through high school. Others are transgender or gender-diverse, and are figuring out who they are while managing minority stress, family dynamics, and systems that don't always make things easy. My approach is relational and collaborative. I don't follow a rigid protocol — I draw from ACT, DBT, and CBT, and I tailor what we do to who you are and what you actually need. Sessions are a place to build insight, develop real skills, and figure out how to live more fully as yourself. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced training in gender-diverse care, trauma, and neurodevelopment. Before opening my practice, I spent two years at Yale's Pediatric Gender Program and completed my doctoral internship at Yale School of Medicine. I keep my caseload focused so I can do this work with the depth it deserves. Sessions are available via telehealth across Connecticut and New York, and in person in Southington, CT — which may be convenient for students at nearby colleges and universities. I also see adolescents and teens, so referrals for younger clients are welcome. I'm happy to connect with counseling center staff to discuss fit, coordination of care, or consultation. The best way to reach me is through my website or by phone.

If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals. Hello! Intrusive and scary thoughts, over-analyzing, mental reviewing of events, repetitive behaviors, and skin-picking. These are all symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety is natural, but when severe, it can be hard to cope with — often getting in the way of things we want in our lives! My passion is to help others begin the journey of working through the anxiety, toward the life they want to have. I make use of a variety of therapeutic modalities, including ERP, ComB, ACT, and I-CBT, but I ultimately hope treatment will be a collaborative process assisting you in identifying steps to reach your goals. I strive to create a safe space in which you feel comfortable to discuss your thoughts and fears. Given that I have my own lived experience with OCD, I feel I can provide a deeper level of understanding for those living with anxiety and OCD. I, too, have been there. I understand how scary and difficult it can be. We can take that first step together.
