I truly believe in the healing that results from having a trusting and nurturing space to explore insights, desires, strengths, and challenges. I am LGBTQIA+ and non-monogamy affirming, and have experience in helping people through the coming out process. I also help people who are dealing with life transitions, anxiety, depression, and processing trauma. During sessions, I use an approach called Internal Family Systems (IFS), which will help you understand symptoms and process trauma at a pace that feels right for you. Through this lens, I will help you connect with your inner wisdom, self-compassion, and clarity. I will also help you develop a felt sense of how emotions show up in your body, and how you can use this connection towards symptom relief. The search for a therapist can be stressful and tiring, but I encourage you to stay connected to yourself as you get a sense of who might be a good fit - even if it takes a few tries! If my profile resonates with you, please feel free to reach out for a free 15-minute video consultation. Looking forward to connecting!

I work best with students who feel overwhelmed on the inside even if they look “fine” on the outside. Many of my clients deal with anxiety, OCD, stress, or big life adjustments like starting college, managing classes, or navigating relationship difficulties. If you’re feeling stuck, burnt out, or unsure how to handle everything on your plate, you’ll likely feel comfortable with me. I offer a warm, straightforward space to slow down, understand what’s going on, and build skills that make life feel more manageable.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, creative, and grounded in both trauma-informed and person-centered care. I believe that therapy works best when clients feel safe, heard, and understood. Building trust and genuine connection is at the core of my approach, and I strive to meet each client with empathy and curiosity rather than judgment. I draw from evidence-based modalities while tailoring treatment to the individual. This means our work together may include strategies from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, DBT, mindfulness, or strengths-based frameworks. I highly value your voice in the process and view therapy as a shared space where we can explore challenges, deepen insight, and build tools for healing and growth. I am especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and others navigating identity, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relational stress. Hi, I’m a Columbia University–trained clinician with 20 years of experience working with college learners in a range of roles—including psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and professor. I specialize in supporting young adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity development, and even high-performance areas like academics and sports. I bring both clinical depth and real-world understanding to the therapy room—and what makes me a little different is that I genuinely get the college experience. I’ve spent my career in it, and I know how to blend evidence-based strategies with humor, warmth, and a nonjudgmental presence that helps clients feel both seen and empowered.
Therapy can deepen your capacity for love, trust, and connection — with yourself and with others. I’ve seen it ease depression, anxiety, and shame; strengthen self-esteem; and help people become more resilient during life’s ups and downs. Most of all, it can bring forward a truer, more authentic self. Therapy is a collaborative process. You speak, and I listen closely — for what’s said and what lies beneath the surface — helping you see what may be getting in the way of a more fulfilling life. As Carl Rogers wrote: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” I’ve found that to be true. Patients find it helpful to explore childhood, memories that bubble up, dreams, feelings, fears, wishes — whatever arises. Our aim is an understanding of your inner world that leads to meaningful action & choice. With couples, I help you listen more clearly & break entrenched patterns. Everyone longs to be seen and heard & I'll help you arrive at that place. As a therapist and writer, I’m inspired to help each patient take hold of their narrative — understanding where they’ve come from & where they’d like to go. As we get to know one another, I tailor my style to your personality and needs. Your feedback is always encouraged. Email me to schedule a consultation & see if we’re a good fit. Ms. Shilpa Shah, LMHC the Clinical Director and Founder of Woodrose Counseling. She is a bilingual licensed mental health counselor fluent in Gujarati and first generation South Asian American. Her experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds and age groups in community-based and outpatient settings informs her culturally sensitive approach to treatment. Ms. Shah believes that therapy is an opportunity to explore our struggles in the context of our past experiences and patterns while in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space and developing more effective ways of navigating them. Her philosophy is that therapy is a collaborative place for finding support in healing, developing self-awareness and working towards your goals. She utilizes an eclectic approach drawing from psychodynamic, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). Therapy is a collaborative process providing an opportunity to bring awareness to how past experiences are affecting current struggles. In our sessions together, we will work towards identifying your goals and meeting your needs while working on healing, developing self-awareness, and practicing self-compassion. I will provide a safe space for you to feel emotionally supported while also helping you challenge unhelpful patterns in order work towards change.
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It usually means you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time. I work with college students and young adults who are trying to keep up on the outside while feeling stressed, burned out, or unsure of themselves on the inside. Therapy with me is practical, supportive, and focused on helping you understand what’s actually driving your anxiety, overthinking, or self-doubt, and what to do about it in real life. Sessions are a space to slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and build tools you can use outside of therapy. You don’t need to have the right words, a clear goal, or a crisis to start. We take things at your pace and figure it out together. If you’re curious about therapy but not sure it’s for you, a consultation is a low-pressure way to ask questions and see if it feels like a good fit.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 7 years of experience. Whether managing stress, relationship changes, school, or work difficulties, I focus on helping clients develop practical tools to feel more balanced and in control. Taking the step to seek support can be difficult, and I want to acknowledge and applaud you for making that choice.
My name is Ricardo and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My work focuses on supporting people navigating eating disorders, OCD, and the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. These struggles can feel isolating—but they don’t have to be. I offer a warm, affirming space where you don’t have to explain or justify who you are or what you’re going through. Together, we’ll explore the patterns and pain points in your life with care. I use approaches like CBT, Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), and motivational interviewing, always through a trauma-informed and person-centered lens. But just as important as the tools is the relationship—we’ll build something grounded in trust and mutual respect. I know how loud the inner critic can get, how overwhelming it feels to be stuck in loops of anxiety, shame, or self-doubt. You deserve relief, and you deserve to feel more at home in yourself. Therapy can be a space where you get to exhale and be fully seen. If anything here resonates, I invite you to reach out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit. I’d be honored to walk alongside you on this part of your journey.
My goal is to support clients in becoming the best version of themselves. I see therapy as a tool to support and motivate clients in taking control of their lives. I believe that therapy is truly for everyone- you do not need to have a major problem to start therapy. Therapy can be a place where we discuss the good things happening in your life! However, starting therapy is a vulnerable process. I am here to support your experiences and to provide you with the tools to better cope with situations. I focus on exploring clients' inner voices and beliefs that dictate how we interpret situations. I work with young adults and adults. I work mainly with issues around self worth, communication, anxiety, and life transitions. I have a background in education and empathize with young adults and adults striving for perfectionism. I also feel passionately about helping young adults feel empowered and find happiness and success in their careers and the corporate world. As a Jewish therapist, I bring a strong appreciation for how culture, identity, and personal values shape the way we move through the world. I aim to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can show up fully as yourself—whether you’re navigating school stress, relationships, family dynamics, or figuring out who you want to be in this next chapter of your life.
