Every individual carries a unique story, and as a therapist-in-training, I am deeply honored to walk alongside you on your journey. I approach therapy with a blend of curiosity, empathy, and respect, aiming to create a safe and nurturing space where you feel comfortable exploring the complexities of your inner world. My therapeutic style is integrative, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, person-centered approaches, and trauma-informed techniques to tailor our work to your specific needs and circumstances. I have experience working with a range of concerns, including but not limited to relationship-related issues, sexual trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. I understand that life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, and seeking support is a courageous and important step. I am here to listen, support, and guide you through these difficult times. Together, we will embark on a collaborative journey to understand your thoughts and feelings, identify patterns that may no longer serve you, and develop effective coping strategies that empower you to move forward with resilience and confidence. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to creating a warm, inviting environment where you feel genuinely seen and understood. I strive to offer a space free of judgment, where you can safely express your emotions and share your story. By integrating evidence-based techniques with a deep, compassionate understanding of your unique experiences, my goal is to help you unlock your full potential and live a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. One of the greatest gifts I've received in my 19+ years of private practice, has been to witness individuals as they move towards healing, and discover a more fulfilling, whole life. The hold an eating disorder, anxiety or trauma can have on a life is profound. To watch the grip loosen, and healing emerge, is very moving. I enjoy learning, and collecting new tools and skills to help my clients. After I obtained my MSW from New York University's School of Social Work, I completed postgraduate training in eating disorders and body image issues at the Women's Therapy Centre Institute, and in Trauma Studies at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. In addition, I completed a three-year training in Somatic Experiencing, and have assisted at professional trainings, helping other therapists to learn the model. I've led eating disorder groups for New York University's Counseling Center and various non-profit organizations, and have served as both a lecturer and group case consultant on eating disorders and trauma at postgraduate institutes in New York City. Interested in creating a culturally and spiritually sensitive practice, I completed a two-year program studying the world's major faith traditions, in an effort to better understand my clients from all backgrounds. I do not take any insurance. My fees range from $150-175 based on need, and I do not presently have a sliding scale beyond that range. If you have questions, or would like to request an appointment, please feel free to contact me. I offer ONLINE ONLY therapy in CA, CO and NY.

Hello! I’m Sakena, and I’m a Master’s student in the Social Work Program at Binghamton University. I aim to create a safe space for clients to comfortably navigate through any difficulties. I understand everyone is different, and with that, I make sure my approaches are in each client’s best interest. When working with clients, I use approaches such as active listening, skill building, and mindfulness to help clients through the difficult experiences they’re facing. These skills come from a holistic approach that is person-centered and follows CBT and SFBT. My goal as your therapist is to help you reach your goals. I believe this journey is a collaborative process, and you can progress through it at your own pace. I hope to help clients explore how past experiences have shaped their current emotions and way of life. So together, we can highlight your strengths and aim for clarity and balance. Hi! I am so happy you’re here. Trauma and anxiety can have a huge impact on our bodies, thought patterns, relationships, and so much more. Maybe you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, lost in thought, thinking of the worst-case scenarios, and avoiding tasks or responsibilities. You want to support yourself through this and you’re ready to feel connected to your body, trust yourself, speak your truth, and show up in the world aligned, authentically and connected. Working with me involves a body focused approach. You will better understand what your body is communicating to you and gently release what the body is storing from past experiences. This process is collaborative and is about you feeling safe, valued, and heard. I’m experienced supporting clients bridge the gap between their mind and body. As a certified breathwork and energy healing I offer more than just a space for talking. Our time together will incorporate a holistic and integrative approach. Anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma are some of the most challenging issues to live with. In my work with individuals, families, and couples I've had the opportunity to help guide my clients through these struggles and begin experiencing more fulfilling lives. I also have experience working with clients on body-image-related issues and deconstructing the standard idea of beauty. If these issues are relatable to you, please know you are not alone. It is extremely courageous to take this first step to seek help and guidance. As a marriage and family therapist, I believe that relational work can be an incredible way to embark on a healing journey. No one lives on this earth alone, nor should we feel as though we do. Strengthening or rebuilding our relationships, even the one we have with ourselves, can positively impact our lives in incredible ways.

I am passionate about working with college students 18 and older that are struggling with painful life experiences that affect their mental and physical health. I provide a safe, accepting environment, using evidence-based modalities for change, and support my clients in the process of healing and becoming the best versions of themselves. My clients are resilient- however, having to be "strong" and in survival mode all the time is exhausting, and it's okay to let your guard down with me. I aim to support my clients in not only surviving, but thriving. My clients achieve a healthier relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them.

Ricardo Bermudez, LCSW. I listen to people to get a sense of what their needs are. We work collaboratively to develop goals to support the therapeutic process. I work with a variety of people. It depends on the need for therapy and if I have the skills to support the issue. I am open-minded and do not judge anyone for their life circumstances. Listening is the most useful skill for a therapist. This is a safe space for you to talk and have someone hear you. This is a collaborative process, and you are in the driver's seat.

Let me tell you a little bit more about me. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have always loved helping others. My passion for working with people in their 20s and 30s stems from years of working with children and adolescents in schools. I’ve helped students find their own path into adulthood and see my current work as a continuation of offering that guidance and support. Previous clients describe me as very kind, empathetic, non-judgmental, and caring. Counseling is in my blood, it's all I have ever done and I feel as passionate about it today as I did when I started.

I believe therapy should be a safe, non-bias, judge free space where you can be seen and heard regardless of what you are going through. In our sessions together, we can challenge and explore where we currently are in life, and how to manage, cope and overcome obstacles with full transparency. If you are ready to take your healing journey seriously, we could be a perfect fit!
