Therapists for college students near Northeastern University
I offer both telehealth and in-person appointments at my Boston location (16 Cohasset St). I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. I have provided care in hospitals, community mental health programs and outpatient centers, supporting individuals experiencing complex emotional challenges, personality disorders, substance abuse and self-harm. My practice, Venus House, was founded as a consciously safe space that prioritizes inclusivity, cultural humility and compassion.

If you've been feeling emotionally overwhelmed and it's affecting your sleep, work, or relationships, today is a good day to prioritize your well-being! I offer telehealth sessions throughout Massachusetts and Virginia, and in person walk-and-talk sessions in Charlottesville, VA. I specialize in helping young adults manage stress, anxiety, feelings of isolation, depression, or of not feeling good enough that can accompany being a college student in an academically rigorous environment. If your previous ways of dealing with challenges are not working, you find yourself drinking more than you used to, not sleeping well, or not feeling able to connect with your friends and family, this is a good time to get additional support. I take an active role in helping you sort out the best way to approach your challenges and teach you the foundations of mental health so you get back on track. Together we will explore the connection between how you live and how you feel, and identify the areas that feel out of balance. I take a comprehensive holistic approach to wellness because, for the people I work with, traditional talk therapy is often not enough. Our mental health is impacted by our environment, sleep, physical activity, what we eat, relationships, beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors–and I believe our mental health care should include these elements as components of the whole system. Evidence-based tools we may incorporate include meditation and somatic mind-body practices, techniques to work with thought patterns, interpersonal skills, and lifestyle interventions. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation to discuss if we are a good fit to help you achieve your goals!
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) providing both medication management and psychotherapy for adolescents, college students, and adults. As a Boston College graduate with experience in inpatient psychiatry at McLean Hospital, outpatient psychiatry, and emergency psychiatric services, I have extensive experience treating students facing a wide range of mental health concerns. My areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. I particularly enjoy working with college students and young adults as they navigate academic stress, life transitions, relationships, identity development, and recovery from trauma. Because I provide both psychotherapy and medication management, students are able to receive coordinated care from one provider when appropriate, creating a more consistent and collaborative treatment experience. I currently offer in-person appointments in Brookline as well as telehealth throughout Massachusetts. I work with students from all backgrounds and strive to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can be yourself. Together, we'll work to better understand what's been getting in the way, build practical tools to help you feel better, and create meaningful, lasting change. My goal is to help you feel more like yourself again—not just get through each day, but truly thrive.
Hello, I enjoy working with young adults on life transition issues. These include living independently for the first time, fitting into a new community, loneliness, anxiety, depression. I am also a neuropsychologist, experienced in working with students who have learning and attentional difficulties. My therapy tends to be goal-focused and short-term. I work hard on building comfort and trust with clients, so issues and feedback can be shared in a growth-enhancing way. I do not treat clients who are susceptible to having major crises requiring urgent care and hospitalization. Off-Campus Clinicians is a group of highly trained doctoral-level psychologists who work closely with college and graduate students across Massachusetts (in-person sessions available in Cambridge, Watertown) and NYS (Telehealth only). We love our work, and we love working with students. We believe that real progress starts with an honest, trusting relationship, a space where you can speak openly, think out loud, and feel understood without being judged. Students often tell us they value our reliability and consistency. We show up, we stay engaged, and we bring a lot of experience working with young adults navigating the pressure, uncertainty, and growth that come with this stage of life - academically, emotionally, and relationally. We tend to work especially well with students who are thoughtful about themselves and curious about their own minds, people who want more than quick advice and are motivated to understand both what’s going on beneath the surface and how to take the needed accountability that helps life go in better, more desirable directions. If you’re looking for serious, supportive conversation with someone trained to help you make sense of your experience, please contact us.
Finding a good therapy match is crucial to bringing about the change that you desire in your life. Working with someone where you feel seen, understood and challenged in a non-threatening way creates the safety to explore the unknown and grow into your full potential. I have been in private practice for 16 years and I trained and worked at Tufts University Counseling Center for 4 years. In the wise words of author Sharon Salzberg, "If I opened my heart and mind big enough to take in the suffering, then there would be healing- not because the suffering itself is redemptive or healing, but because of the opening I was cultivating in the face of it."
Looking for support during a life change? Feeling stuck? Then let's talk. Clients say I bring calm attention, humor, & creativity to all my engagements and that I help them center, increase awareness, build resiliency practices, and recalibrate communication and routines that have gone off-track. I hold certifications in IFS, mindfulness, nature/outdoor guidance, coaching, EMDR along with somatic and expressive arts practices. I've worked in multicultural, medical and educational settings supporting people of all ages - from children-to-parents-to-elders. A unique part of what I offer is to meet outside for walk-and-talk sessions and to explore ways that Nature can be a resource in your healing and grounding process. Nature reminds us that stability during change is possible and that we are always connected to larger things in this world, seen and unseen. In the spirit of Rumi's quote "what you seek is seeking you," let's work together to move you toward whatever calling you forward.

Hi, my name is Jake and I’m a therapist in Brookline. I meet with clients in person and online. I enjoy working with adults of all ages and particularly young adults and people early in their careers who are searching for more meaning, fulfillment and balance in life. Regardless of the main issue that brings individuals into therapy, many of my clients struggle with some type of self-defeating narrative, or what I call, an unworkable story about themselves or about some aspect of their lives. I enjoy helping people uncover these unworkable patterns and develop more effective ways of viewing themselves and their lives. Working with me involves exploring what gets in the way of more openness, awareness and engagement with life, and then practicing increasing these ways of being through exercises (such as mindfulness approaches), use of metaphor to shift perspective and other behavioral moves. It’s important to me that I meet every client where he or she is at and work collaboratively toward creating the life you want for yourself. I look forward to connecting with you!
