My service is the work of the soul. My work and approach are characterized by intuition, compassion, optimism and collaborative exploration, and a ready sense of humor. I take an Integrative approach with each person I work with, utilizing different modalities to address soul growth. I am a clinical social worker and a psychoanalyst with 24 years of experience working in different clinical settings including college counseling center, hospital, community mental health clinic, and private practice. I enjoy working with people who want to learn more about themselves and wish to grow. Over the many years of doing my work, I have helped a wide range of individuals transform painful emotional patterns, grow in self-awareness, and create more meaningful lives. The length and the intensity of the therapy is determined by each patient. You might want to focus on a specific problem in your current life in short term psychodynamic psychotherapy, or you may choose to engage in more exploratory psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I also offer psychoanalysis. Although my orientation is psychoanalytic, I incorporate other treatment modalities and adapt my clinical style to individual needs. I am very familiar with the emotional stressors of academic life as a clinician and a former academic. Before training as a psychoanalyst, I taught Russian literature, Polish literature and Polish film at UMass/Amherst. In my clinical work, I enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate students and individuals from different cultural backgrounds. I accept all PPOs and will help you submit claims to your insurance for reimbursement.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Haverhill, MA

Danielle Carroll, LMHC, is a psychotherapist currently providing services to children, adolescents, and young adults. Danielle utilizes a client-centered, strengths-based approach that allows her clients to feel empowered to build the skills they need to improve their quality of life. She provides a trauma-informed, nurturing, nonjudgmental environment and incorporates humor and therapeutic play into her practice, which allows her to develop relationships with clients who have historically struggled to build healthy and safe attachments to providers and caregivers. Danielle often accesses aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Expressive Arts Therapy in her practice in order to meet the individualized needs of her clients. Trauma-informed care is the cornerstone of Danielle's treatment approach, as this safety net provides a necessary container to the emotional needs of her clients. Danielle graduated with a Master of Arts from Lesley University in 2018 in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Expressive Arts Therapy, and is now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts. Danielle has experience working with youth in a wide variety of settings, including residential treatment programs, juvenile detention centers, schools, outpatient clinics, and in-home. She is comfortable addressing a range of treatment issues and specializes in trauma, attachment, LGBTQ+, mood disorders, anxiety, and impulse control/conduct disorders.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist

Feeling anxious? You are not alone. It can be easy to end up feeling overwhelmed, uncertain and depressed - The pressures of relationships, school or work, family, friends all seem to pile up - and then taking care of yourself ends up on the bottom of the priority list. At Movemental Wellbeing, my approach is to help create a calm space where the anxiety and overwhelm don't have such a profound hold on you. One of the best strategies I know to do this is to find opportunities to go outside with clients, to go for a walk, and to feel connected and understood. Many of my colleagues and clients describe me as having a calm and compassionate presence, and that is the foundation of my work with you. Beyond that, I also believe that therapy doesn't have to be hard all the time. I like to find moments of humor, fun, joy and play and to make sessions experiential and movement-based to support all aspects of you. If the typical version of therapy (sitting and talking) doesn't feel like the best way for you to do this work, let's try something different. I'm committed to making therapy engaging, insightful and thought-provoking (and even fun). If this sounds like a refreshing approach that you might be interested in trying, please schedule a free consult call!

Clinical Social Work/Therapist

Hi! My name is Katie Kalina, a licensed independent clinician with over 6 years of experience. I believe that everyone deserves to be heard and healed, and that as your therapist, it's my job to meet you exactly where you're at. One of my specialties is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Eye movement (or other bilateral stimulation) is used to work on one memory at a time for the mind to heal. I have worked with individuals and groups of all ages, from children to teens and adults through anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, body image issues, relationship issues, and anger management. As your therapist, I will make it my mission to make you feel at home in our sessions. Once we meet, I will help you set goals and devise a plan that will make you transform in the ways that you wish to. Looking forward to completing this journey with you and bringing you ongoing success. Northborough, MA

I have been in private practice since 1997. After graduating from the California School of Professional Psychology with a Ph.D in clinical psychology and U.C. Berkeley with an MPH, I practiced in California which included attending privileges at several hospitals. I moved back East in 2001, and have been in private practice since that time. In addition to my private practice, I provide consultation to the University of Massachusetts Medical School Department of Psychiatry medical students, residents and fellows. I see undergraduate students from MIT to Worcester State, as well as high school students. I can say with complete honesty that I love my work and feel blessed to be of service to those willing to share their lives and collaborate to find the life they need. People come to share their deepest hopes and their deepest pain. Together we make sense of life in a way that works for you. Sh

As a neurodivergent clinician, I have found myself particularly well suited to working with clients with ADHD, AuDHD, PTSD, PDA and/or who are autistic. I also have over a 15 years of experience working with trauma survivors and LGBTQ+ communities. Many of my clients found past experiences of talk therapy unhelpful or helpful only as “maintenance” while larger issues were neglected. I focus on two specific therapies, EMDR and IFS, that go deeper to address underlying issues. I also center the unique needs of neurodivergent clients and include ways to help manage distress and recognize stressors. For many neurodivergent clients, therapy approaches such as CBT have backfired. For example, treating autistic burnout with strategies from CBT to manage depression can actually worsen exhaustion and burnout. Similarly, using exposure therapy to address anxiety primarily caused by social and sensory issues related to ADHD or autism may cause further distress. I center neurodivergent experiences in my approach to therapy and help clients explore strategies to reduce sensory and emotional overload and recover from burnout. If you are finding yourself spending your energy just trying to get through the day, it is time to start working towards a better future. Let's work together to help you level up your life.

Radical acceptance and authentic human connection. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Trying to keep your head above water? Do you need a space where you can be seen, heard, and valued? I can help. I provide warm, engaging therapy without judgment, shame, or stigma. I work with folx ages 16+ who are looking for new ways to move through life. I tend to work with people who are going through a transition. Perhaps you are going off to college, trying to understand an ADHD or Autism diagnosis, navigating complicated relationships, or exploring your identity. (I provide gender-affirming treatment letters.) WARNING: I'm not the kind of therapist who nods & asks: "How does that make you feel?" I work in an interpersonal, solution-focused, collaborative language format. Meaning? I'm super interactive, and we're gonna work together to manage your drama & trauma. I use radical acceptance and authentic human connection to help you on your path toward healing, growing, and thriving. I've been a therapist for over a decade. I use strength-based, affirmative, and neuroscientific theories to guide us, but healing doesn't happen via theory. It lies within you- your hopes, hardships, successes, and infinite wisdom. My mission is to help you feel deeply understood and connected as you gain awareness of how your thoughts, emotions, and body are interconnected. Take a break from your hectic day and find a relaxing space where you can virtually come to learn to maximize your strengths, minimize your fears, and increase your confidence. As an expressive therapist, I’ve been trained to find additional approaches towards healing, which may include the arts. My style is relational, collaborative, and informed. Recovery and healing are possible. We all have struggles we've faced in this life. You are the expert of your life and your experience. Racism, homophobia, and sexism are hardcore capital-T Traumas. Even the strongest among us need support in helping our inner critic shut up and get out of our way. You are amazing, and I want to help you see that (especially if you just got through this whole thing and are still reading).
