A need to always look put-together and strong can be destructive and exhausting. It seems like the harder you try, the harder it gets. The pressure to appear “all good” invalidates the emotions we all experience as human beings. Living in a culture of toxic positivity only reinforces the idea that negative thoughts and feelings are somehow inherently unhealthy. In therapy, outdated notions are challenged and you will not be invalidated for feeling…anything. Many of my clients have internalized beliefs about who they should and shouldn’t be- and most of these beliefs are false. Therapy is a non-judgmental space where you can truly express yourself without fear of being judged or shamed. Many of the clients I work with identify with being anxious, perfectionists who want better relationships. I also work with adults who know or think they may be on the autism spectrum. Overall, therapy can be great tool to get a better grip on life as well as for treating a specific diagnosis.. Whatever your background, your struggles, your ambitions, we will work together. Feeling better is within reach.

Being in college or graduate school often means navigating big transitions, shifting relationships, academic pressure, identity exploration, and uncertainty about the future. You may look like you’re holding it together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or stuck on the inside. My role is not to “fix” you, but to help you reconnect with your own capacity to heal and grow. The coping strategies that helped you survive earlier seasons of life may no longer be serving you. In our work together, we’ll build on your existing strengths while developing new skills that support resilience, emotional regulation, and authentic self-trust. I have experience working in hospitals, schools, and in a university setting, and I specialize in working with survivors of trauma. My trauma-informed approach prioritizes safety and nervous system regulation first. We focus on building your ability to feel grounded and present before engaging in deeper trauma processing, and healing does not require you to relive or recount everything before you’re ready. Starting therapy, especially with a new provider, can feel vulnerable. I aim to create a space that feels steady, collaborative, and respectful of your pace. If you’re considering beginning therapy for the first time or returning after a break, I welcome the opportunity to talk and see if we’re a good fit. I provide teletherapy to clients 18+ across Colorado, and in person sessions in Longmont, CO. Due to a conflict of interest, I am unable to work with current students of the University of Colorado Boulder. Reach out by text, call, or message to schedule a consultation.

Finding a therapist can feel overwhelming. Between the jargon and endless options, it’s easy to feel stuck. I'm here to make the process easier. Many of my clients come to me feeling weighed down by anxiety, self-doubt, or pressure to “get it right.” They often struggle with body image, self-worth, or the persistent sense that they’re not enough. As a trauma-informed therapist, I help clients build confidence, strengthen emotional connections, and feel more aligned in their lives and relationships. Together, we’ll work on breaking old patterns and creating a stronger, more authentic sense of self.

Katie has working in the mental health field for over 10 years, supporting individuals, couples, children, and families as they navigate both everyday challenges and deeper healing work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College and a Master’s degree from Boston University, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado. Alongside her graduate training, she completed a clinical fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Psychiatry, specializing in Child Development and Infant Mental Health. Over the years, she has sought out additional training to better support her clients, including EMDR (both basic and advanced trainings), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Circle of Security Parenting. She is also endorsed in Colorado as an Infant Mental Health Specialist. While her background is rooted in research and evidence-based practice, she believes therapy is ultimately about human connection. Katie brings a warmth, curiosity, and compassion into every session, creating a safe space for you to feel understood and supported as you work toward lasting growth.

If you are looking to be fixed, you have come to the wrong place. You are a human being longing to be seen and heard, not a problem to be solved. As a queer, Asian (Filipinx) immigrant, I understand the importance of community, advocacy, and finding your voice. Together, we can work to bring awareness to the harmful messages we have come to internalize and the systems of oppression that inform the ways in which we take up space. If you are seeking justice & compassion for inner child you, as well as meaning and belonging for present you - I eagerly invite and welcome you in. I specialize in working with QTBIPOC+ college students, adults, and couples on issues of Intersectionality, Identity, Intergenerational Trauma, Social Justice, Interpersonal Skills, and Self-Compassion Work, among others. Human connection is everything - let's make room for your lived experiences, hopes, and dreams; your mere existence is an act of rebellion When working with me, I want you to feel like you have complete ownership of your personal narrative. I believe that there is so much power to be found within the therapeutic relationship. When there is mutual trust, respect, and authenticity in the room, we can start to effect healing. I see you for all that you are, and all that you still hope to be.

I help stressed out and anxious people of any gender to heal trauma, make work suck less, and get good at relationships. I’m an Denver LGBT therapist providing EMDR therapy with a decade of experience. I’m terrible at pop culture and I love puns. My goal for my clients is to have a sustainable life where you can thrive. I want you to feel like you can navigate what life throws at you, even if it’s hard. I’m deeply invested in finding out what works for you (vs. anyone else). I’m less likely to promote something as “healthy” in therapy and more likely to ask you how it’s working for you. I won’t look at you sideways when you drop your partner’s pronouns or ask me to use a new name for you. We’ll curse, cry, and probably (hopefully) laugh. We’ll be human together.

Your body holds the wisdom to heal. As a body-centered, mindfulness-based psychotherapist, I blend practices from the East and West, evidence-based interventions with spirituality, movement with introspection. I work with highly sensitive, empathic clients to help them build healthier relationships, let go of substances and patterns that no longer serve them, improve self-esteem, find freedom from anxiety and depression, and come home to their bodies. I believe in the healing power of embodiment to help my clients recover. In my work, there is always space for vulnerable moments, profound realizations, uninhibited emotions, and very often, deep belly laughs. As a fellow traveler along the path, I understand profound loss and trauma. With an extensive background in substance abuse and trauma treatment, I get that mental health challenges can take over your life. Using a holistic and tailored approach, I will work with you to treat the underlying causes of substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and other symptoms of trauma. As a body-centered psychotherapist, I take a “bottom-up” or “embodied” approach to trauma-focused modalities, including EMDR. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy for additional support in treating treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, C-PTSD, and other trauma symptoms. If you want to break free from the symptoms of trauma, begin a healing journey, or simply improve your overall well being, I’d love to help you get there.

My belief is that everyone can benefit from therapy and having the support of an unbiased person to talk to. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the belief that our thoughts create our feelings, and that if we change our negative thinking our feelings will change. CBT teaches that it is not the event which causes the emotion (and our behavioral reaction) but the meaning we give that event - or what we think ABOUT that event. There are many powerful tools that have been developed to help you change your negative thoughts and feelings. Working with a Mental Health Therapist will help you learn how to use those tools to make changes in your life and relationships. Negative distorted thoughts tell us “once everything falls into place, I will feel peace”. Therapy helps you find your peace and then everything falls into place.
