I love working with students who are struggling with adhd, their identity, the transition into adulthood, and the very real anxiety that comes from that! I've worked with clients who've suffered from trauma, mental health disorders, and lack of social acceptance. I love being a safe place were you can share what's impacting you and find acceptance, support, tools to help you take control of your life, and gain confidence in moving forward with your plans and dreams
I have been a licensed Therapist for over 25 years. I have worked primarily with teens and young adults, but also with adults up through the age of 65. Much of my current practice is with young men, supporting them to overcome anxiety, depression, interpersonal and relationship challenges, life transitions, substance and alcohol use, and other related challenges. At this point I am only providing on-line therapy/telehealth. I offer free 15 minute consultations.
Great to meet you! As a board-certified licensed therapist, I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults with a variety of backgrounds. My primary goal is to create an authentic connection with each of my clients to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable. I believe that our past influences our present, especially when faced with challenging life experiences. Together, within our built safe space, we will explore how your past experiences influence your current thoughts and behaviors - to improve your awareness and identify areas for positive change. I believe in balancing validation and empathy with a directive, solution-focused approach that offers specific strategies to enact change. I treat anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, self-harm/suicidal ideation, substance use, anger management, grief, low self-esteem, relationship and family issues, identity development, and life transitions. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches because it is important to me to adapt my style to honor the current needs of each of my clients. I always begin our work together with an introductory session, when you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve through therapy. We’ll work together, collaborate on your goals and create a plan that feels most comfortable to you. Building trust is important to our therapeutic relationship, and will take our time easing into processing your thoughts and experiences. I will remain committed to supporting and guiding as we work together to make your goals a reality.

Do you struggle with feelings of loneliness, fear, guilt, shame, anger, difficulties trusting others and difficulties feeling joy. Therapy is a transformational process and I certainly understand being anxious or even fearful of change. Through my personal experience in psychotherapy and work with clients, I have witnessed the healing and change the therapeutic process offers. My approach is warm and welcoming. College students I work best with are often balancing a lot at once and feeling overwhelmed trying to keep it all together. You might be dealing with anxiety, low motivation, relationship stress, or feeling unsure about your direction. On the outside, it can look like you are managing, but inside it feels heavy or exhausting. Many of the students I support are ready to understand themselves on a deeper level, even if they do not have all the answers yet. You may be tired of repeating the same patterns or feeling stuck in your thoughts. In our work together, we focus on building clarity, confidence, and practical tools so you can feel more in control of your life and decisions.

Let’s find a way forward—together.
With a holistic training, I encourage balance and perspective to ease the stress of transitions, overwhelming feelings and situations. Shifting away from judgment about our emotions is often the key to helping us move through them and heal, instead of feeling stuck. We can grow your capacity and confidence to manage the challenges of life.
We all want to be happy, belong, and feel loved. Yet at some point in our lives we struggle, get bogged down, and feel stuck. Getting support can help you understand what is going on and help you discover new ways of thinking about yourself and your relationships. I view my role as empowering you to make those changes in your life and supporting you to make healthy decisions, feel more at peace, and cultivate a happier and more confident self. I specialize working with Asian Americans in their twenties and thirties struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. I am especially interested in supporting individuals work through issues of identity, barriers in cross-cultural communication, and generational family of origin pain. I hope that I could be a support to you in your journey wherever you are. I would love to speak with you today to hear more about your situation and see if we are a good fit in working together.
Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health is a not-for-profit 501c3 charitable endeavor that provides affordable therapy and counseling services while seeking to address the growing and dire need for multi-culturally competent clinicians. Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health believes that authenticity is a big part of getting therapy right. We also know that one of the best indicators of therapy success is the rightness of fit between the therapist and the client! That means it's vital for you to have a sense of who we are, and that old models of "invisibility" in a therapist aren't going to contribute to you making a good choice. Our clinicians get that and identify themselves in ways that are personal, genuine, and still respectful and committed to all of the ways that therapy is all about YOU. We are a part of a growing trend in mental health services that acknowledges and seeks to address the need for therapists and counselors who are culturally humble. We are devoted to developing that awareness and skill-set, and are a diverse and growing group of practitioners who offer a variety of approaches to mental wellness…Traditional treatment like CBT and psychodynamic psychotherapy, holistic and somatic therapy methods, indigenous approaches, and spiritual perspectives are all offered. We work on a sliding scale from $30 and up depending on the practitioner. The initial consultation with our intake coordinator is free! We’re here to change and challenge what therapy has meant and who it’s been accessible to. Our group of licensed and pre-licensed clinicians have a varying range of expertise and styles. We invite you to visit our website or reach out for an intake to find folks who feel like a good fit!
Sometimes you feel out of place, like you can't connect to other people. Your life might appear "normal" but you can't seem to enjoy it. You may feel alone, like nobody else understands, and might wish you could be more present for your kids/work/partner/family. While you have experienced trauma, pain, loss, hardship, or addiction, you are ready to take hold of your future. If you are looking to break free of a painful past that has you chained in your present, you have found the right place. Thrive clients are women who have struggled, felt alone, and are exhausted. They are people who want support in moving forward. I am genuine, honest, upfront and interactive, and emphasize the importance of our connection for your healing. I treat trauma through the lens of mind/body connection. I primarily use EMDR, which bridges the trauma stored in your body/mind/spirit to allow healing, CBT, which helps you identify and replace unhealthy thoughts, and DBT to teach coping skills. There will be no stuffy office space, writing notes under the gaze of judging eyes, or a long couch...promise! I'll be the supportive ear that puts your butt in gear! You will laugh, cry and heal.
